The Kuhnl & Hoyer family have been making trumpets by hand since 1948. Since 1996, Kuhnl & Hoyer have successfully worked with the acclaimed worldwide solo trombonist of the “Metropole Orchestra Hilversum” Bart van Lier.

Together the worked to developed a whole trombone range of modern, high-quality instruments suited for Jazz, Big Band and the symphonic section. In addition to his activities as an orchestral musician and lecturer for trombone at the university in Rotterdam, tours, workshops and master classes take him around the world.

This .480/88 dual bore jazz trombone that has a sound far beyond what you would expect of a small bore horn. It is punchy yet has a mellow sweetness to the tone, which is due to that dual bore. With the ability to switch bells the trombone can be manipulated into being whatever the player desires, you can choose between 2 bells the 180mm (7.087″) or 195 mm (7.677″).

The brilliant gold lacquer is like no other, with its beautiful gleaming appearance that is so elegantly applied to allow for as little restriction as possible
