What's Behind - Conception

Recognized for their great versatility and their stability, the Privilège clarinets stand out through their  aesthetics, ergonomics and tuning.

These clarinets are exceptionally stable in tuning, perfectly adaptable to all acoustics (opera, symphony, wind band, room, studio) and easily match with other instruments. The perfect medium register temperate (E, F, F, F#, G) wins in brightness and timbre making the Privilège clarinet an extremely homogeneous instrument over the whole range.

Raw ebony wood is selected, delicately worked, naturally treated, lacquered and water repellent for protection featuring a top-of-the-range finish completed by fine engravings on keys and rings.

Available in Bb, A and in 2 finishes (silver plated or black keywork).

Birth of a Clarinet - Savoir-Faire

Henri SELMER Paris started manufacturing clarinets in the 19th century (Place Dancourt, Paris) and since then has acquired a great reputation in the professional world.

This traditional know-how has been passed down from generation to generation in the Mantes-la-Ville manufacture, which has succeeded in combining innovation and tradition.

Today, a Selmer clarinet consists of 450 parts and requires a high level of craftsmanship.
