Description:
Forestone has released the "Black Panther," a limited edition 10th anniversary model based on their top-of-the-line RX series.
Its biggest feature is that it uses a new material called titanium white copper, which is made by adding nickel and titanium to the main component copper, and has a black nickel finish.
The body is black and the key mechanism is silver, giving it a very sleek look. The engraved parts are accented with the reddish color of the titanium, white, and copper base metals, enhancing the look. The key layout is very compact, making it easy to use even for those with small hands. The use of rolled tone holes, which are rare these days, gives the key action a satisfying, clicky sound and reduces hesitation in fingering. The octave key shape, reminiscent of a Selmer Balanced Action, shows respect for vintage instruments, and the speed of pronunciation and responsiveness are certainly close to those of vintage instruments. The pitch is good and there is no unevenness across the range, making it a highly refined instrument. The greatest features of this instrument are the thick sound with well-balanced overtones from the titanium and white copper, and the clear core sound characteristic of the black nickel.
Not only does it look flashy, but it also gives the impression of being an instrument that has been made honestly. If you are looking for a unique alto, be sure to give it a try.
